Discover the Ollin Tonatiuh Aztec calendar pendant, intricately hand-carved in black obsidian from Mexico. A powerful symbol of spirituality, protection, and self-reflection, this piece connects you to centuries of Mesoamerican tradition.
Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass, once polished to a razor edge. Before the arrival of Europeans, the Mexica used it for meditation rituals, protection against negativity, and as mirrors to reflect the inner self. Obsidian figures and beads were also buried with the deceased for protection in the afterlife.
Mexican obsidian comes in several varieties: black, red, green, golden luster, and the rainbow-colored Manto Huichol.
The pendant measures 50mm and is paired with a handmade macramé necklace (24") woven with waxed thread on a fishing thread for comfort and durability. Available in your choice of color and size. The stone alone is also available.
Each piece is handcrafted in Mexico.
