That piece was carved in the region of Guerrero, Taxco by a family of traditional artisans who have been sculpting stones for generations. It comes from the local natural stones in the river bed. No fuel or mine extraction 🌼
Green granite is a natural Mexican river’s stone composed mainly of approximately 25 percent quartz and approximately 65 percent feldspar, mainly varieties rich in potassium and sodium, and mica, which presents green tones on its surface due to the presence of minerals such as chlorite, actinolite and epidote in its composition.
Granite is perhaps the best known of all igneous rocks, due in part to its natural beauty, which is enhanced when polished.
